Write for us
We welcome pitches that help readers think clearly about gardening in compact city spaces. Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option.
What we are looking for
Propose a focused idea about urban gardening: a plant form, container choice, small-space layout, seasonal observation, garden material or useful background. Strong pitches have a clear reader question and a distinct point, rather than a broad topic that could go in any direction.
Make the pitch easy to assess
Include a working title, a short summary of the central idea, why it suits Lively Garden Journal and any relevant writing or subject experience. Tell us whether the piece is original or has appeared elsewhere. Please do not send a complete article unless requested.
Keep advice grounded
We favour specific, readable work that does not promise results for every garden. Pitches should make clear where conditions vary and avoid unsupported claims. We cannot promise a reply or publication, and an initial conversation does not guarantee a commission.
